Essay Topics for 1984

Essay Topics for 1984The first and most important rule in dystopian literature is the ability to create an atmosphere. With today's technological and economic state of affairs, the author must be aware of this and use it to their advantage. Sure, the world will end as we know it if we do not take drastic measures, but if you play it right, it will end up being much worse than what we know.In real life, we are prone to believe that something must be done about a problem that seems intractable, while at the same time, we can't seem to think of a quick and easy solution. In our opinion, this is all just politics; it is nothing more than riling people up and using them as tools of the political system. This is one of the reasons that the future of the world is almost always assumed to be worse than the present, it's intellectual and psychological inferiority complex showing through in the guise of our youth. All we seem to want is for something to happen; yet, if something does not happen , we become frustrated with the very situation that we created. We really do not know when and if something is going to change; we are stuck in a sense of mechanical motion where there is no spontaneity or freedom to truly express what we feel. The world is our prison, and yet, despite that, it still feels like our own home. It is only when we come to terms with the fact that we are part of a larger thing that we begin to develop any semblance of our individuality. When all is said and done, a dystopian works as a drama with a dramatic scenario, but it's one that is somewhat subjective. The decisions that the characters are forced to make are generally dictated by logic and good sense, as opposed to being purely out of irrational fear. The end of the world scenario that most people assume, usually has to do with the means of survival in our present society. Because we will no longer have any sort of government to provide any sort of security; our lives will need to be planned around wh atever resources are available. It is the end of the world as we know it, but it is just a desperate day. We don't have any time to waste, and yet, we need to get the job done as quickly as possible. On a final note, I would like to emphasize that our opinions and political ideologies should not dictate our own actions, and we should respect the individual as much as we can. We should all work together to bring about a new world order where love, cooperation, and forgiveness are the keys to success.
