Trouble With Essay Topics

Trouble With Essay TopicsThe trouble with essay topics is that they can seem, and perhaps in some ways are, to random. When it comes to writing a topic, it's best to come up with one or two thoughts, but not more than that. As you read this, you'll learn some of the most commonly written topics for essays that might keep you from putting together an essay that will blow you away and give you a high grade. One of the things you should consider when coming up with a topic is to think about the topic that you have been writing about in your schoolwork. Have you ever looked at your work history in school and asked yourself why you choose that topic? What did you expect to find out there? What are the stakes, the ramifications, the repercussions, the consequences? Then you need to think about the topic that you want to research for your essay and see if it really interests you. Does it seem like a good fit to you? The next thing you want to do is think about how to phrase the topic. Don't g et carried away by all the options. For example, if you know you'll be writing about genetics and someone asks you about apples and oranges, then don't make it into a topic on apples and oranges. They can ask for apples and oranges, or something to that effect. If it's a more personal topic like 'A Personal Experience of Love'My Story,' then you can use that as a basis for your topic, but it would be better to use phrases like 'A Psychological Experience of Love,' and maybe even 'My Personal Experience of Love.'The tricky part about one of these topics is the first sentence. It should say more than enough to get the point across. Don't end the first sentence on a question like 'Does this topic interest you?' Infact, you might want to work on this part of the essay a bit before actually writing the second sentence. This may sound funny, but one of the best topics I've ever seen was someone saying, 'I love my mother more than anything else in the world.' This guy obviously wasn't born w ith his mother, but there is something so endearing about that line. His essay is a classic, which means it doesn't come across as an essay that was made up just to write and not a man who was truly deeply in love with his mother. One thing you may want to avoid if you're having a difficult time coming up with one of these topics is 'Chores'Problems.' Anything more active is going to take away from the flow of the article. It should be more a matter of what you want to write about rather than go with a topic you're not going to enjoy.Remember, the trouble with essay topics is that you have to be careful to make sure that it's interesting, but that it isn't too busy or distracting. You don't want it to read like a list of facts, but rather as a story. Do the research, and then go from there!
